Above system assumes operator feeds scrap tires into receiving hopper of
in-feed conveyor with a small loader. Shredded tire strips will discharge off
the discharge conveyor where the processor can then re-shred them to achieve
a fixed tire chip or dispose of them as a coarse cut shred without re-shredding.

Metal Shredder and Sorter 

MMSS 60 x 60

This unit will produce a shredded density of 65-70 pounds per cubic foot. The approximate capacity of the unit is 10 to 20 US tons per hour.  The unit will be powered by a 1,000 HP variable speed DC drive motor. The DC drive motor will have a final speed of 700 RPMs. The system would consist of the following items:

1)    One 54” wide x 71’ long 3/8” plate, 9” pitch Beaded Pan Infeed Conveyor with a Chute.

2)    One MM60X60 metallic shredder consisting of:

                 a.    An infeed hopper with cast manganese steel liners lining the front upper hopper section.

                 b.    Discharge Chute

                 c.     Circulating oil unit for the bearings.

d.    Hydraulic power unit and cylinders for opening and closing of mill housing.

                 e.    Reject door.

                 f.     Reject door chute.

                 g.    Stand for mill tilt.

                 h.    Hydraulic pin puller. 

                                                   Some of the features of our 60x60 are as follows:

·      Shredder rotor Wk2 of 45,000 lbs/ft2 with outboard flywheel.

·      Fully capped spider rotor.

·      Capped end discs.

·      Upper housing and feed hopper open hydraulic for instant and easy access to the shredding chamber.

·      Toggle bolt locking device for ease of opening the shredder for maintenance or inspection purposes (This device is designed to lock the upper housing to the lower, yet allow for a quick and easy removal for inspection of interior of the mill).

·      Circulating oil system for both main rotor bearings.

·      Rotor shaft design is square to round (patent pending) and eliminates keyways and threaded locking devices.  The spiders and end discs are shrink-on and held together by four draw bars.  This gives us the tightest and most rigid rotor available in the world.

·      Infeed hopper with cast manganese steel liners in the front upper impact section.

·      Hydraulic power units and cylinders for opening and closing of mill housing and for operation of reject door and pin puller.

·      Self supporting stand for the upper housing and feed hopper when in the open position.

·      Coupling and coupling guard ( by APCO)

·      Flywheel (by APCO)

·      Feed hopper and discharge chute (by APCO)

·      1,000 HP DC Drive motor, complete with encoder (by APCO) 

3)      One 48” wide x 30’ long Extra Heavy Duty Oscillator with stainless steel nose section.

4)      One 48” wide x 42’ long Flat Idler Style Conveyor with catwalk, hopper and chute.

5)      Drum Magnet Assembly to include two 36” diameter x 48” wide Drum Magnets with rectifiers, plus one 50” x 78” feeder, drives, supports, chutes and platforms.

6)      One 36” wide x 30’ Long Flat Belt Sort Conveyor with pull cord E-stops, infeed hopper and platform with stairs.

7)      One 36” wide x 50’ long Flat Idler Style Conveyor with motorized undercarriage, swivel base and catwalk on one side.

8)      One 30” wide x 42’ long Flat Idler Style Conveyor with magnetic head pulley, splitter chute and catwalk on side.

9)      One Manual Diverter Chute.

10)   One 4’ x 8’ Screen with stand and chutes.

11)   One 36” wide x 41’-7” long Flat Idler Style Conveyor with catwalk on one side, magnetic head pulley and splitter chute.
