Millennium Machinery is a specialized manufacturer of high-precision components for heavy equipment and drill rigs used in demanding industries worldwide. Our team is committed to delivering durable, performance-driven products engineered to withstand the toughest operational environments. Through advanced manufacturing capabilities, technical expertise, and a strong focus on quality, we continue to support global industrial operations with reliable machining solutions built for long-term performance.
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our growing production team in Miami.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled CNC professional with hands-on experience programming, setting up, and machining large-scale components for heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or drill rigs. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining, advanced programming techniques, precision measurement, and process optimization.
You will play a critical role in transforming complex engineering designs into precision-machined components while maintaining strict quality standards, maximizing efficiency, and supporting continuous manufacturing improvements.
Develop, write, and optimize G-code programs for multi-axis CNC milling, turning, horizontal boring mills, and large-format lathes using CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM, GibbsCAM, or Esprit.
Interpret engineering blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T specifications to determine the most effective machining strategies for heavy-duty components and complex industrial parts.
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, custom workholding solutions, and machining parameters to improve material removal rates, maximize tool life, maintain surface finish quality, and achieve tight tolerances.
Conduct program simulations, dry runs, and first-part prove-outs to validate machining operations, prevent collisions, and ensure production safety.
Continuously improve machining programs and production processes to reduce cycle times, minimize material waste, and increase overall machine efficiency.
Maintain tooling libraries, machining documentation, and CNC program databases for production consistency and future scalability.
Perform complete machine setups, including loading raw materials, installing tooling, aligning fixtures, and configuring workholding systems for large and complex components.
Set accurate tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters to ensure dimensional precision and repeatability.
Load and execute CNC programs while closely monitoring machine performance and making real-time adjustments to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.
Operate and manage multiple CNC machines when required to support production schedules and shop productivity goals.
Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubrication, coolant management, and preventive machine care to minimize downtime and maintain optimal machine performance.
Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision metrology equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Verify that machined components meet all engineering specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements for heavy equipment and drill rig applications.
Document inspection results, production activities, quality checks, and machining deviations to support manufacturing traceability and quality control standards.
Identify and resolve machining challenges such as chatter, excessive tool wear, dimensional inconsistencies, poor surface finishes, or material-related cutting issues.
Diagnose CNC machine alarms, program errors, tooling failures, and operational issues while coordinating with maintenance or engineering teams when necessary.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality departments to improve manufacturability, optimize machining processes, and implement corrective actions.
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain compliance with workplace regulations, PPE requirements, and safe material handling practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, machinists, and production staff regarding technical requirements, production progress, and operational improvements.
Support and mentor junior machinists and machine operators by sharing technical expertise and best machining practices.
This position is based onsite at our Miami, Florida manufacturing facility. Candidates should be comfortable working with heavy materials, industrial machinery, and large-scale production equipment in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
If you are passionate about precision machining, advanced CNC programming, and manufacturing high-performance components for heavy equipment and drill rigs, we encourage you to apply and become part of the Millennium Machinery team.
